We are very enthusiastic about the next edition of the Marlin World Cup.  For those of you both old and new, the upcoming edition is packed with great announcements and new creative surprises.

Firstly, the competition is on the move – literally … and as from 2010 moves back to its origin, La Pirogue Hotel.  La Pirogue revisited remains true to its traditional values of authentic Mauritian hospitality, romance, tranquility and of course, great fishing.

Always being attentive to our esteemed anglers, we have made concerted efforts to considerably decrease the package rates. But that’s not all … we have added more value!  A game of golf perhaps?  Included in your package, we are offering a practice round of 18 holes at the Tamarina Golf Club the day prior to the start of the competition, with a “Fisherman’s Golf Tournament” on your free day.  Green fees and transfers will be included for both days!!!  We have also made changes in the programme – take a look.  Better still there is more to come …. keep yourself updated on our website  www.marlinworldcup.com.

As in the preceding years, the Marlin World Cup will be adjudicated in accordance with the International Game Fish Association (IGFA), however in the upcoming competition we will use only 80lb and 130lb lines.

Here’s more ….. In addition to the traditional the Marlin World Cup Trophy, gold silver and bronze Marlin trophies, airline tickets and accommodation at La Pirogue Hotel, the single event winner will have Free Entry to the 2011 Competition (excluding boat charges).

The Marlin World Cup, as you know, is an important venue in the IGFA Offshore Championship Circuit – an international fishing competition. The winner of the Marlin World Cup 2010 will be invited, at their own costs, to bring their team of up to four anglers to compete in this prestigious championship circuit in Mexico. The event for the 2010 IGFA Offshore World Championship will be held in Cabo San Lucas,Mexico, date May 8-14, 2011.
